Leonardo Rotsen Arquitetura: More than a boat, HYGGE is a home in motion. The interior design was conceived to evoke the feeling of home at sea, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere without compromising the functionality required by a nautical space. The project’s aesthetic draws from a minimalist yet deeply emotional language—where every element serves comfort, light, and a sense of permanence.
Natural light takes center stage: strategically placed openings allow soft daylight to filter in throughout the day, casting gentle shadows and enhancing textures and materials. Light fills the space delicately, without excess, reinforcing visual fluidity and a strong connection with the surrounding landscape.
The color palette was carefully selected to visually expand the interiors and reinforce a sense of calm. Neutral tones— such as whites, beiges, and off-whites—converse with light wood found in the finishes, furniture, and custom millwork. The use of these natural materials deepens the tactile and visual feeling of coziness, adding warmth to the overall composition.
Every detail in the décor aims to create layers of life: meaningful objects, natural fabrics, and subtle elements that evoke a lived-in, yet airy, home. The project embraces visual silence and simplicity as forms of welcome, crafting spaces that invite pause and contemplation.
The spatial layout respects the logic of the hull, making intelligent use of every centimeter. The furniture is understated, functional, and adapted to the boat’s movement, without sacrificing design. In collaboration with renowned designer Jader Almeida, we developed custom furniture and lighting pieces that maintain visual sophistication while reducing weight—an essential feature for the vessel’s performance. The living areas are integrated to encourage connection, while the more private corners offer a sense of retreat and rest. HYGGE is a space that celebrates stillness in motion. A refuge at sea.
