This spacious 330 m² apartment is located in a historic building on Petrovsky Boulevard in the heart of Moscow. The owners, a family with three sons, purchased two separate apartments here and approached interior designer and architect Ariana Ahmad to develop a design project.

“The apartment owners have exquisite taste, so they had high expectations for everything: layout, interior design, furniture selection, and decor. They dreamed of four bedrooms and a spacious living-dining room where the whole family could gather,” notes the designer. Also, the family spends part of their time in their beloved Paris and wanted to transfer the spirit of French interiors into their Moscow apartment.

By combining both apartments, Ariana designed an entrance hall and wardrobe at the entrance, a common area of living room, dining room, and kitchen totaling 70 m², a pantry near the kitchen, a master block with a bathroom and wardrobe, three children's rooms, a guest bedroom with a separate bathroom, a home office, and a laundry room. The undeniable advantages of the space are the high ceilings of 3.5 meters and elegant arched windows offering picturesque views of the city's rooftops.

Ariana built the interior design on a logical composition, monochrome palette, graphic quality, and bright accents. Thus, all walls, as well as built-in furniture, window sills, and radiators, are painted in one color. Characteristic herringbone parquet, decorative moldings and cornices, white color, natural marble, and antique tapestries create an atmosphere in the spirit of Parisian apartments.

Furniture was chosen not only for functionality but also for interesting design. The main hero of the living room is undoubtedly the famous LC4 chaise longue by Le Corbusier. For the dining table, they chose swivel chairs by Patricia Urquiola in practical leather upholstery. The living room is adorned with stylish chairs from De Padova in ochre-beige leather, which became the only bright accent in the predominantly gray-black-white palette. A sofa by Piet Boon and a chair by Bonaldo were preferred in textile to balance the large amount of leather.

Lighting for the apartment was chosen meticulously. Ultimately, the owners settled on original models from the Apparatus studio, created by Jeremy Anderson and Gabriel Hendifar. Their works, both innovative and in a retro style, hang throughout the apartment, with the most expressive ones adorning the dining room.

“I like how expressive accents and graphic lines of furniture stand out against the monochromatic architectural background in this interior,” emphasizes Ariana Ahmad.
