LMARQ Arquitectos: The ARA-174 house is located in the Araucarias neighborhood, Belén de Escobar, Province of Buenos Aires.

It is located on an elongated 500m2 lot with neighboring buildings, arranged longitudinally on the land, and opening towards the north, but maintaining privacy. The house takes advantage of this orientation for the public spaces on the ground floor and the rooms on the upper floor, locating the kitchen, bathrooms and circulations to the south. It is composed of a volume on the public ground floor, integrated, and with views towards the park, and an upper floor with voids and pergolas that give rise to nature inside the house.

The project plays with the combination of materials, differentiating the architectural elements. It contrasts the exposed concrete partitions and the brick that closes the façade on the ground floor, with the upper volume plastered in a dark tone. The use of wood gives warmth to the interior of the house, used in different ways: as cladding, in furniture, and as the fencing that separates the private space of the ground floor room from the main living space.

Use is made of the upper floor circulation space next to the staircase, taking advantage of its luminosity to locate a desk and reading space. On the first level there are also three bedrooms and a laundry room. On the roof we find the terrace, whose main objective was to house the observatory and star photography space that interested clients.
