Casa Yoli is a project developed by KINEKI in collaboration with Cabin México, a company specializing in the manufacture of mobile homes. The result is a 52 m² tiny house or hotel room that can be installed in just 90 days anywhere in Mexico. Thanks to its low cost—below that of a traditional hotel room—it is an excellent option both as a weekend home and as a starting point for a lodging model. The units are designed to adapt to any climate and can operate completely off the grid.
The installation is carried out using stilt-style foundations, one of the oldest forms of ecological housing in the Americas. The system uses reinforced concrete blocks on each structural axis, which are supported by a lightweight metal structure protected with primer, anti-corrosion paints, and a special fire-resistant compound. The KINEKI system's column and beam structure is mounted on this frame.
KINEKI is currently the only solid wood construction system in Mexico with a patent and FSC forest certification, which guarantees responsible forest management, protects biodiversity, benefits local communities and workers, and ensures long-term economic viability.
Casa Yoli's structure is built with pine wood treated with CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate) preservative, a water-soluble compound that provides long-term protection against fungi, pests, and moisture. Additionally, fire retardants are applied, forming a protective barrier around the wood fibers, reducing their flammability and burning rate. Electrical safety systems, such as smoke detectors, are also incorporated.
The walls and slabs are constructed with SiPanel, the only system in Mexico that manufactures sustainable dry-weaving panels, composed of a high-density polyurethane core injected between two fiber cement panels.
The KINEKI system allows for energy savings of up to 60% and significantly reduces construction times and costs, as well as the use of resources such as water, freight, and waste transportation, minimizing the environmental impact.
