Lim + Lu's latest design, "An Artist's Teahouse," unveils a serene sanctuary where creativity intertwines with tradition. Nestled within a quaint village in Foshan, this 2000 sqft tea house stands as a testament to artistry and architectural finesse.

Commissioned by the artist herself, the teahouse is strategically located adjacent to her studio, offering a harmonious space where she can invite guests for conversations and tea. The design showcases a series of interconnected platforms at varying levels, each housing seating areas that invite visitors to savor tea and engage in meaningful dialogues.

Traversing the space, guests are greeted by a calming combination of white gravel pathways, wooden steps, and large potted plants. The elevation changes between platforms not only add a touch of intrigue but also captivate the eye with a visually dynamic layout.

Embracing a tranquil and zen-like ambiance, the teahouse doubles as an art gallery, housing a curated selection of artworks that complement the serene surroundings. Every detail exudes intimacy, encouraging gentle dialogue and a genuine appreciation for the art of tea.

The structure itself is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship, predominantly constructed from wood slats with sleek metal portals that elegantly frame views and focal points. The wooden frame windows, adorned with Chinese paper—a nod to traditional Chinese paper windows—add a touch of heritage and timeless elegance to the space.

Lim + Lu's "An Artist's Teahouse" is a sanctuary where art, nature, and contemplation converge, offering a haven for reflection and creative expression.
