CF taller de arquitectura: Villanueva Offices, located in Mexico City, were designed for a young law firm working within a limited area (177 m²) and seeking a contemporary image while maintaining the seriousness, professionalism, and order inherent to its discipline.
The design optimizes the space to create an environment that combines modernity, privacy, and efficiency. This is achieved through a neutral color palette that blends beige, gray, and olive green tones, along with the use of natural light.
The architectural program includes two main private offices for partners, five secondary private offices, a formal enclosed meeting room, an informal open meeting area, an open-plan operational workspace, a printing hub, a kitchenette, a reception area, and a storage room. This layout maximizes the use of space while ensuring functionality and comfort.
The project’s layout is structured around three clearly defined longitudinal axes, enabling efficient organization and smooth circulation. The two peripheral axes are dedicated to private offices and meeting rooms, while the central axis hosts an open work area for day-to-day operations. This central space features suspended acoustic felt panels, designed to control sound and maintain a comfortable working atmosphere.
The central axis is framed by two natural-tone metal plate bookshelves. The first serves as a focal point at the entrance, while the second frames the open meeting area’s furnishings, reinforcing visual cohesion and organization. This element harmoniously integrates acoustic panels or baffles, lighting fixtures, and air diffusers, ensuring a clean and orderly design.
In the private offices and meeting rooms, the design addresses noise control to guarantee confidentiality through the use of wooden panel systems for acoustic insulation.
Material selection plays a key role in defining the project's identity. Oak wood panels, natural steel, and a palette of gray and black tones create a sober and contemporary aesthetic. This is complemented by green accents through natural vegetation and select walls painted in the firm’s olive corporate color. The reception area features basalt stone, offering a distinctive and innovative first impression that reflects the unique character of the firm.
The project stands out for its spatial optimization and innovative approach. The incorporation of intelligent solutions demonstrates a meticulous focus on efficient use of restrained spaces. It meets the law firm’s operational needs while conveying a contemporary architectural vision that balances aesthetics, functionality, and close attention to detail.
